Baking in the sun

Just a quick note. I've blogged in A Separate Life about why I'm not posting this week. I'm feeling good so far, but wondering if seeing my sister watch her daughter get married on Friday will bring unexpected emotions. Not that I'm tempting fate - more an intellectual curiosity. And in the meantime, I'm enjoying being back in Thailand. Now, for another frozen mango daiquiri ...

  1. Ahhhh...I'm now wondering of the same thing for when my other closest friends get pregnant...we shall see when the time comes. I've prepared myself mentally bit by bit (if such a thing can be prepared for) he he...have a lovely holiday!!! :-D

  2. Dh's cousin's daughter got married a few years ago... she was the first of her generation of cousins (Katie's generation too) to get married (and her mom is younger than we are!!)(she's since had a baby too). I wasn't prepared for how emotional it would be, & I can only imagine a niece's wedding (or one of our nephews'...!). Hearing BIL & SIL ribbing each other, watching the bride & groom dance with their parents (SIL, watching the groom & his mom, smugly to BIL: "I get to do that TWICE.")only rubbed salt in the wound. :p Her sister is getting married in May.

As John Belushi said famously in "Animal House:" "My advice to you -- is to start drinking heavily." lol Those frozen mango daiquris sound good. Good luck with the wedding!
